Story driven Stoner Rock/Doom Metal with 70's/80's hard rock influences in a mushroom and hemp fueled Fantasy World of dragons, magic and super-science ruled by ancient alien gods.
The spirit of the music:
Elflord's music taps into the spirit of the 70's drug sub-culture iconography such as the imagery of black light posters of that era as well as early 80's role-playing games. Amalgamated with doom metal artists such as Trouble, Pentagram, Black Sabbath and Cathedral with the simplicity and power of classic rock to produce a catchy and epic hybrid of stoner rock and doom metal.
Lyrical Content:
All songs written by Elf Lord tell a portion of a greater story-line that takes place in a semi-medieval/post-apocalyptic fantasy world called Palagon which takes place 120,000 years in earth's distant past. This alternate history of Earth incorporates Ancient Alien theory and elements from mythology and ancient religions.
Film influences:
Ralf Bakshi's animated movies "Wizards", "American Pop" and "The Hobbit", as well as "The Last Unicorn", "Rock n Rule", "Fire and Ice" and "Heavy Metal the movie".
