“Closing the night was Duk Tan (pronounced “dook tan,” not “duck” as I had previously thought). Hailing from Mocksville, NC, the band’s funky eclectic sound was the perfect end to the evening. It’s hard to describe their sound but it’s something between progressive rock, funk, soul, and improv. I had never heard them before but I was glad for the opportunity. It was evident that they have a solid fan base and it’s easy to see why: the group has great stage presence and their set was certainly a crowd pleaser. The high energy show that Friday night was one I won’t soon forget. The Chop Shop is a great venue and this event was booked solid with promising talent. The lineup of The Funky Geezer, Jah Fishermen, Sabbaton Esteban, Duk Tan, and, of course, Bums Lie is definitely five star. Each of these acts are worth going to see solo but, when you put them all together, you get one hell of a show.”
