Don Miller mentioned you in a comment. Don wrote: "Well, Dr. Bob Agnew, I think, by inadvertently serving as an example, you may have just hit on the most important point here. Case in point: you chose to LIVE your life instead of being a spectator watching OTHERS live THEIRS. That is probably why you have accomplished so very much in your life. It is truly awe-inspiring when you really stop to take a moment and think about it and all the places you have gone in this one short journey God gives we like to call "Life"...... a Doctor, a tennis pro, an expert Yachtsman sailing around the world, a brilliant musician, a philosopher, and a natural born teacher to us all..... and so much more! You have always been an inspiration and motivation to me. That is REALLY what TRUE role models are, not some corporate buffoon who plays with balls in tights, media hero, of government con man A.K.A. "Politician". I am honored to be a small piece in the amazing jigsaw puzzle of your life in some small way as one of your bass players along the way, even though after JACO, it was a tough act to follow! Thank you for inspiring me. It probably was your example in part at a much younger age that inspired me to live life for myself every time I MAY have thought to turn on a TV, read the spectator pages of some sports page, watch some bogus award show, or any such other pabulum. Instead, choosing to invest in myself and my own human growth by studying, practicing, reading a book, going for a walk and admiring the awesome beauty and power of Mother Nature and all her amazing creations, and so much more. You have been an instrumental figure in the development of many great people, artists/musicians, etc. from Jaco to even little ol' me, and have lead the way by example to LIVE your life instead of being a "GROUPIE" spectator of life. Thank you for bearing the slings and arrows of "bearing the cross" to carry the torch of truth Dr. Bob!"
