Doug Craft

Doug Craft is a musician and artist working and performing in northern Colorado. He is a multi-instrumentalist who plays a variety of styles live, ranging from Americana to prog metal and electronica. The music found here is collage- and loop-based, composed using Ableton Live, Reason, and Acid Pro. Doug creates complex trance-inducing loops that convey emotional moods and feelings. These pieces range from ambient and introspective, to danceable music with a strong bass and percussion grounding. Some might call it trance or chill - or even minimalist or ambient. "I usually use improvisation to compose and then play live with these Ableton loops and other musicians. Because of this emphasis on improv, I adopted the "Jam" genre - but it is clearly not like Phish or other known jam bands. It is music intended to create a trance or meditative state in the listener or dancer."
