The Double Barrel Blues Band are a modern blues group mixing traditional blues and rock n’ roll . Cloutier's guitar work is characterized by a high-energy blues-rock approach, though he also incorporates elements of jazz and traditional blues. Reviewers have noted his playing can range from "smooth and sexy" to "whammy-powered and grinding". He often features his Fender Stratocaster in his recordings, which contributes to a classic blues-rock tone. He has released many instrumental tracks, showcasing his improvisational skills and diverse range of guitar sounds and effects. The DBBB also features the legendary Northern Country drummer Garnet Grimm Sr and bassist vocalist standout Joel Kane. This band swings and rocks and whispers the blues with their dynamic High intensity shows that have become their trademark. The mood created gets the folks on the dance floor time and time again . This rocking band has opened for Molly Hatchet, Marshall Tucker Band, Savoy Brown, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Chris Duarte Group, and Edgar Winter, just to name a few!! The band stays very busy doing summer concert in the parks and festivals in the NY area. Most importantly they have generated a large following in the NY area by writing, recording and performing their high energy songs and always showing their personable vibe with the folks who love the music! Blues in the Bay in Alexandria Bay, NY Has been a highlight for this band for the past 16 years
The DBBB was nominated for a 2010 Sammy Award for their release, “Night Train Home” and have won 2010, 2011 ,and 2012 U.S.I.A.- Upper State Independent Awards in Best Blues Category. Guitarist Mark Cloutier has also been nominated for two Sammy Awards for his solo release of Wings Of Fire and Thunder and Lightning.
