Dinah's Daydream is a gypsy jazz trio based in Asheville NC. The band is led by guitarist Mike Kenton with Alex Travers (violin) & James Dawkins (upright bass). Other members of our extended musical family who are regularly featured include guitarists Phil Alley, Jim Tanner & Adam Rose and upright bassists Chris "Fatty" Burt, Ryan Kijanka & Ethan Matthews. We are grateful to be part of a vast and talented family of gypsy jazz musicians in Asheville. That means that on any given night, any of these musicians may be on the bandstand, as well as our various friends substituting for any of us that may have other gigs. Regardless of who is on the bandstand, if you hear us play, you'll see serious gypsy jazz musicians playing the music we love. And you'll see good friends having a good time exploring the music of Django Reinhardt together. We usually play as a trio, but we're also available as a duo, quartet or quintet. We play at the Battery Park Book Exchange (Champagne Bar) every Saturday from 530 to 730PM. We're very grateful to have been playing at this unique venue every weekend since December 2018.We also play at the Lobster Trap every Friday from 630 to 830. We're grateful to play weekly at this fun, vibrant restaurant known for its friendly vibe & excellent food. We're available for special events too.
