“Dave Wermers caught the music bug as a 13-year-old playing drums in his uncle's band in Mount Vernon. When he bought a guitar a year later, another uncle taught him the three chords to "The Green, Green Grass of Home," and he practiced until his fingers hurt. Now, nearly 40 years of playing with bands from Mount Vernon to Sioux Falls, Wermers has released a CD called "Boxes" featuring 15 of his favorite tunes. Wermers spent four years creating the country rock album in his home. Most of his songs explore relationships, but the album concludes with a tribute called "Thank God for the Veterans" that Wermers wrote for his father, a World War II survivor.”
