The afternoon/evening event will feature self-guided tours of the DeKoven Center’s gardens in full bloom, as well as workshops, led by area florists and garden center representatives. Party-goers will also be able to tour the center’s historic buildings, and enjoy entertainment by local musicians throughout the grounds. There will also be a special art exhibition/auction during the Garden Party, which takes a new look at the architecture of Racine’s former Venetian Theater.

Q: When did you first develop a passion for music and which artists have had the most influence on you?

A: I have always been fascinated by music. My 1st music teacher was Mrs. O'Leary. She inspired me to play instruments. Mrs. Bissel inspired me to sing. She was my Jr. High School music teacher. I sang in school choirs and participated in vocal competitions. I sang in a duo acoustic act for a while and I sang in a cover band for a few years. Presently, I perform as a single acoustic act. I perform mostly original material. My influences are many; Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt, Diana Ross, Bonnie Raitt, Carly Simon, Stevie Nicks, Heart, Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffen, Neil Young, Greg Brown, and Leonard Cohen.
