To celebrate, some of the wonderful performers from our very first show are returning. Bob Bakert, who helped Common Grounds get off the ground (so to speak), and shared his original style with us on many occasions, will start the evening. Bob's lifelong passion for music is evident in every performance. Bob will feature songs from his newly released CD “Finger Paintings”, as well as covers from iconic acoustic artists like James Taylor and Gordon Lightfoot, and jazz artists like Nat King Cole. Bob's website is www.bobbakert.com. Performing with Bob will be Curtis Jones. Curtis has been called "one of the best guitar players on the planet" (from Serious Guitar Radio on live365). Known as an influential guitarist in the world of Bluegrass and New Acoustic music, he has toured and or recorded with some of the biggest names and best artists in the genre. You can hear some of his work at http://www.reverbnation.com/curtisjonesmusic. Plus, The Cottrells will be here for the second half of our show. The Cottrells (husband and wife acoustic duo Dustin and Adrienne) were formerly known as Tortoise and Hair. They too helped us launch Common Grounds and we are so excited to welcome them back. We are looking forward to their excellent musicianship and beautiful voices once again. The Cottrells studied together at Florida State University. Each are classically trained musicians with a shared love of some of the great singer/songwriters of the Rock N Roll era (Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Gillian Welch, etc). The Cottrells are talented singer/songwriters but have been playing a lot of Simon and Garfunkel songs out and about town lately. Connect with them on Facebook ( https://www.facebook.com/cottrellsmusic) or listen on iTunes (https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/a-front-row-seat/id353154013).
