Ten Years of Monday Night OPEN MIC Showcasing the emerging talent of the greater Annapolis area. We will be Celebrating our ten year anniversary at Stan and Joe's in the parking lot and in the bar and restaurant Saturday, November 1st, the last day of Daylight savings time. Live music will be on the outdoor stage from noon to 8;00 and we will be signing people up for regular open mic on the indoor stage all day. We will be excepting donations, though, for the Connected Warriors Project and the SPCA of Anne Arundel County. Folks will be on hand to explain what these charities do for our community and artisans will have crafts, artwork and clothing available for purchase. This is going to be like little Woodstock on West Street.
Soooo, there's a GIANT HILLSIDE SLIP'N'SLIDE. Need I say more? Fine then: food trucks, face painting, pet portraits (bring the dog!) and of course GREAT MUSIC! The choirs of St Nicholas will be strutting their stuff, and The Hyland Brothers, Skribe, members of Crown Victoria and myself will be sharing the stage. There's NO COVER and it's basically just a big, fun party.
Bring your own blankets and lawn chairs so you can relax and and enjoy the pretty gardens.
Now in its third year, Band Camp Benefit raises money for scholarships and operating costs for an annual all-girls summer rock camp put on by Girls Rock! DC. Half of every ticket sale will go directly to GR!DC to help offset costs for this summer's camp happening July 22 - 26 at El Haynes Public Charter School, two blocks south of the Petworth metro in Northwest D.C.
