C-Real / Press

“Slowly but steadily, fast-rising Ghanaian rapper, C-Real is set to carve his niche within the African rap genre and lays bare his intentions to do so, on a recent trip to Nigeria, to Eromo Egbejule and Ayodeji Rotinwa as he announces his debut album, discusses his music and plans to foray into the Nigerian music industry”

“The dude raps with conviction, as befits an emcee who earned his stripes the old school way, i.e., via hip hip battles, culminating in his Channel O’s Sprite Emcee Africa win.”

“C- Real is a brilliant rapper. Despite the name, there’s nothing crony about him (see what we did?). He avoids the rap cliches as much as he can and sticks to bringing his own original flow to the hip hop game. We see him becoming one of Africa’s more important Emcees as time goes on and he perfects his sound and art.”

“9 questions with rapper C-real.”

“C-REAL TO TAKE OVER HIPHOP IN GHANA WITH EM.C.E.O ALBUM”

"This guy is one of the best, if not the best rapper in Ghana. Forget the dialect barrier and the hiplife/hiphop arguments. In the Emcee's own words // I'm yet to meet a beat that beat me//. Ghana has a gem in C-real"

"The best HipHop Album currently available in Ghana. Coming from two of Ghana's best musicians, artistes and HipHop advocates. C-real & EL. This was NOT an Album, just a mixtape that made it to Album status"

“Ghana’s C-Real may arguably have the best flow on the continent. It’s fitting that former MC Africa finalist J-Town (at 0.20) ushers C-Real into the ring to showcase exactly that.”

“TunesGH brings you the CHAMP ! C-real's IBeTheSwag Music Video ! Watch NOW !”

“Ghana's Hottest Emcee drops Mind-blowing Music Video. Check it out NOW !!”

“C-Real Em-C is currently working on his productions and debut album entitled “The Em.C.E.O” at Mixdown Studios. Mixdown Studios also happens to be owned and run by the Em-C himself. ‘I Be The Swag’ is a song about confidence and Skill; not in the traditional flashy sense but rather in a harder, grittier meaning.”

“.... they focus on showing the world the rebirth of lyricism and content relevance in music! They also set out to show that HipHop is indeed in Ghana… and GH definitely has the talent! LSG definitely sees that on this new single… Watch out for ‘C-Real & E.L. GH’s upcoming Mixtape ~ Project HipHop’ which is scheduled to come out in January, 2011...”

“There isn't much to tell really.I'm just a ordinary kind of guy with an extraordinary gift with words. I've had the chance to experience mixed cultures at an early age both in Ghana and outside Ghana. My family is the only thing i will NEVER give up and WORDS are the only things I'm sure will never change. Its simple. What you see is what you get......I'm real ! ”

“In Ghana, the 4Syte Video Music Awards aired recently with its own set of cyphers (a la BET’s Hip-Hop Awards) featuring Ghanaian MCs Iwan, J-Town, C-Real, Scientic, E.L., and Denise. While the Ghanaian cypher from the (International) BET Hip-Hop Awards has already made its rounds since airing in October, I’m going to have to rock with this 4Syte version. I wonder if international rappers will ever get the same respect here in the US that our exports get abroad because I’m not mad at what I see. Thoughts? See both sets for yourself below.”

“LSG Family/Fans… You guys will have to be the judge! You saw the BET GH Cypher right here on LSG… Now watch and listen to the GH Cypher featuring ‘C-Real, Iwan, J-Town, Denise, E.L. GH, & Scientific’… WHOA! All I can say to this cypher is… It’s so MEAN & VICIOUS! is this how to murder a BET Cypher…?!?! You guys be judges! Support, listen, download, & enjoy! – LifeStylz Ghana!”

“I’m going to be honest with you. I dont think i’m underrated in the slightest bit. C-real will damage any verse, and people know this ! I’ve proven myself as a lyricist and Emcee in Ghana and beyond. I’ve stood on the largest HipHop platform in Ghana and in Africa, the Channel O Sprite Emcee Africa. I did my thing for Ghana and for Hiphop and thats in the books for life”

“My real name is Cyril. When i started rapping as a youth i didn’t really have a “rap name” for a long time. Partly because I was not really sure i would make an appearance on the rap scene. And also because I didn’t wanna come up with anything corny. In 1999 I’m sure i would’ve. lol. But I later on found out that spelling my name in reverse spelt “liryC”. It seemed like a cool name but i dont really remember why i didn’t stick with that. It was at the Emcee Africa contest where we had to fill the forms that I REALLY made a decision. Believe it or not, i went there without a name. That was the day the name “C-real” became a reality. The C in “C-real” first represents my real name Cyril. As well as the fact that when its spelt front and backwards it remains “C”onstant. Its “C”reativity and “C”consciousness. The “Real” is self-explanatory. lol”

“Ghana Freestyle Cypher For Africa Music Awards! (Watch the Video NoW)”

“This mixtape will show to the world the different angles through which he lives his life and approaches his dreams. He says “I believe we all have more than one dream, but most of the time, only achieve one. I am trying to grip on my talents as well as professional life.”

“The young dynamic artiste, with sick sword edge lyrics and rhymes, who likes to to be thought as a ‘WORDSMITH’, growing over the years, has come to understand the used of words in almost all creative formats. The Channel-O Mc Africa 1st runner up, has been in and out of rap, but is now here to s”

“He Conquered his mates in the Emcee Africa Ghana and made it through to Bostwana. He then made his Country, Ghana proud becoming the 1st Runner Up. He bears the real name Cyril Gockel Alexander. From the Mixdown Studios, C'real presents to you his first ever mixtape ; THE MULTIPLES OF ‘C’ ”
