Dig The Kid Secures Sync Placement in Point Break

Dig The Kid got some very exciting news this year. The band submitted to one of ReverbNation’s many opportunities and landed a sync placement in the highly anticipated remake of the 1991 action classic Point Break. Billboard did an exclusive premiere of their newest single, “Still Breathing,” which they recorded specifically for the film. Michael Hodges, co-CEO of Alcon Sleeping Giant/Universal Music Group, and co-producer Ken Caillat (who engineered Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours, amongst others) heard something very promising in the band:

“We believed there was something special about this band that we could help shape. We were focused on finding a band and a song that you wanted to hear over and over again with a sound that captured the essence of the film.”

Dig The Kid’s “Still Breathing” is also featured in a joint Chrysler & Point Break ad campaign for the Jeep Renegade. The soundtrack for Point Break was released globally on December 4th, and it includes tracks from Sempe (another artist who was discovered by ReverbNation’s Curation Team), along with songs from Andrew Wyatt and Steve Aoki, Justin Young, Genevieve, and MRKTS.

Earlier this year, Billboard wrote about ReverbNation’s Artist Development initiatives, namely CONNECT and The Watch List.
