About Claire Chevrolet Claire Chevrolet is a French composer, songwriter and performer. She has degrees in piano, philosophy and musicology. Former student of Normale Sup’ (Paris), she was also a fellow at Villa Medici (Rome) as a musicologist. She studied musical analysis at Conservatory of Paris with Michael Levinas and composition with various teachers, including Suzanne Giraud in Paris and Giovanni Guaccero in Rome (Scuola Popolare di Musica di Testaccio). She studied lyric singing with Timothy Martin, Tullio Visioli and Maria Chiara Pavone and continues to work with Andrea Alberti, Luciano Fabris and Barry Harris on piano improvisation. About the show This eclectic performance features the works of French favorites as well as a selection of Claire Chevrolet’s original songs. The beautiful love songs for piano and voice of Lucienne Boyer (1903-1983), a French singer, will be performed, as well as some of the most famous French songs from the 1960s by Léo Ferré, Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Georges Brassens and Georges Moustaki. Instrumental interludes include preludes by J.S. Bach, a piece by Andrea Alberti and French tangos arranged by Uri Ayn Rovner.
