About the Artist

CITIZEN JONES is a Blues duo featuring Daniel Jones (guitar/vocals) and Tim Douthit (harmonica). Our primary focus is to produce, perform and record original acoustic blues. Daniel Jones began his musical journey at thirteen. He bought his first guitar from Sears & Roebuck, with money he earned chopping cotton. Once be heard his brothers Johnny Winter albums, his interest turned to the blues and the original authors of the blues. "I loved BB King and Howlin Wolf, but I wanted to be Muddy Waters." Over the next 40 years he fronted several blues rock bands while serving in the military for 26 years. "I've always played in big loud electric bands because I thought that's how it was done. Now, I like playing more for myself and the people that really like to hear acoustic blues." Jones's primary focus is on his duo, "CITIZEN JONES" with long time friend Tim Douthit on harmonica.
