Chuck Grossman is a seasoned entertainer born and raised in Colorado. With great energy and talent, Chuck is a versatile fingerstyle guitarist/vocalist whose influences include Keb Mo, John Hiatt, Ry Cooder, Chet Atkins, Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal and Little Feat. His genres include blues, bluegrass, funk, folk, rock, swing, jazz and classical, adding his own flavor to each. Employing looping technology in his live shows (although nothing is pre-recorded) and playing through a Bose PA, Chuck creates a very full sound and he has the ability to entertain a wide variety of audiences, young and old.
Additional to being a musicologist and recording engineer/producer, Chuck is a renowned rock climber and mountaineer. His passion is obvious to anyone who has climbed with him or seen him perform. Chucks interests in recording and climbing have led him on a journey of discovery and he is currently involved in recording and archiving live performances throughout the world. He is embarking on a climbing/musical expedition to the Himalaya to record and archive ancient Tibetan music and make an attempt at summiting an unclimbed peak. After that he hopes to hike/climb/record the full length of the Grand Canyon solo. On that trip he intends to climb several technical rock summits (several of them first ascents) with climbers who will descend from the rim periodically and meet up , climb and resupply. He will be making field recordings and video along the way with a very light guitar and flutes. A hatchling dream of his that is slowly taking wings.
Chuck performed in the ski towns of Colorado since the late 70's and became the house musician for the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Beaver Creek, CO in 2003. He became the house musician for the Ritz Carlton in Lake Tahoe, CA in 2009 and at the Ritz in Denver in 2013. Over the years Chuck has toured extensively in the US and Europe and performed in Canada and Mexico. Chuck also produced a soundtrack for the 22 time International Film Festival Award winning documentary "Jump" in 2003. He recently relocated to Cimarron, CO and is performing in clubs and venues throughout the country as well as recording new musicaland film projects. One of Chucks recent projects included recording music for Jeff Lowe's "Metanoia"; a film produced in spring 2014 about the life of this amazingly inspirational person!
