Christina Christian / Press

“South Alabama native Christina Cecrle is a 20-year-old singer songwriter. She is currently setting aside college to focus on one goal, and that is being on a stage anywhere she can. Christina began writing at the age of 14 with ideas of poems that transformed into lyrics for her songs. At the age of 17 she auditioned for American Idol in New Orleans. Since then she has participated in many singing competitions and songwriting contests. After high school Christina was accepted into Troy University, majoring in Music Industry to take on the ins and outs of the tricky business side of how music is heard by the public. She is now back in her hometown of Foley to fully pursue her music career. She plays at venues and at songwriting nights all around Alabama, telling her story and having fun. ”

“ORANGE BEACH, Alabama -- Christina Cecrle is ready to take on Orange Beach, Mobile, Nashville and anywhere else in the free world where she can perform her brand of country and pop original music. Lately, Cecrle, 20, has been belting out her own songs at stages from Orange Beach to Fairhope to Mobile. Cecrle is no stranger to writing her own songs. With ballads like "Mile 23" and "You're Worth The Wait," Cecrle has been making her mark along the Alabama Gulf Coast and honing her craft. While her sights are set on Nashville, she's happy for now to be making music along the beaches. Here, in this video, Cecrle talks about and performs her music for the debut of Music from the Beach recently in Orange Beach. “When did you first start writing songs and what prompted you to do so? Do you have a musical background? I wrote my first song "Pickin' Daisies" when I was 16 years-old. This in fact was a time of new beginnings and with that came many inspirations! I was in this relationship for a bout two years during high school that really took my songs to the next level. Not saying that I was using this guy...which is how he might see it, unfortunately. So relationships, family, and the good things that make go like, "Wow, this is amazing, I LOVE LIFE!" That is my drive. For every moment, every life lesson, and every time I think of God. Yes I do! My grandpa, Bob Cecrle was in a barbershop quartet back in his late 20's. It's so fascinating to hear of all his stories. Then he passed it down to my Dad, Dave Cecrle. He inspired me to start playing guitar. Either it's genetics or something else because it all of a sudden just came natural after that! ”
