I'm Chris Barclay, a musician based in Auckland, New Zealand, with a passion for guitar, singing, and songwriting. Over the years, I've had the privilege of sharing my music with audiences across Auckland and throughout New Zealand, performing in various settings from cover bands to duos, trios, and solo gigs.
My journey as a musician has been shaped by both triumph and adversity. As a leukaemia survivor, I've faced challenges head-on, using my music as a source of strength and healing. Along the way, I've been honoured to receive recognition for my talents, winning competitions such as GuitarShop TV and various songwriting contests.
My musical style is influenced by a diverse range of artists, from modern shredders like Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert, John Petrucci, and Guthrie Govan, to rock icons such as Bon Jovi, The Cult, U2, Keith Urban, and the Goo Goo Dolls. This eclectic mix of influences is reflected in my dynamic performances and heartfelt compositions.
