"Long enough I've done different kinds of music and covers. During that time I gathered many ideas for my own pieces. Now it's time to publish 'em! " Charles M. Mailer has been a drummer and drummer in various bands for many years. With his own songs, he proposes a new, previously unknown aspect of his musical activity. Songs before - between - behind and beyond the blues - authentic - partly autobiographical - of life on the street and the ordinary daily interaction and mess between people. Mailer shows that blues are not always only depressive three-chord twelve-bar music. He takes up influences from blues, soul, country, rock, funk, jazz and much more and added personal experiences of his almost 40 years of being a musician. His striking expressive voice makes you think of the blues of Dr. John, John Hyatt, R.L. Burnside or Tom Waitts.That is why he created his unique and creative style mix called Blu: Soul or RhythmSoul. In April 2012, Charles M. Mailer founded the Sunhill Palace Band, a lineup of high-profile live and studio musicians during a session at the legendary "Omnibus" Würzburg, Germany. The lineup is individually compiled with additional musical guests & friends to support major concerts, recording sessions and bigger live performances. The listeners are prepared a varied menu of own pieces and hand-picked "pearls" of the blues history. The solo skills of the members of the band are given special attention, which makes the concerts a very special experience. The cast ranges from a quartet (guitar-bass-drums-piano) to a XL-band with a second keyboard player, additional vocalists and solo instruments such as blues harp, sax or violin. In 2013 the publication of the first studio album "Covered Up With Blues" (7-Track EP) was stopped for legal reasons. In October 2014 they released their album "Live @ The Studio Lounge". Some pieces were created in collaboration with the American free-lance lyricist and blues poet Freida W. Gantt from South Carolina who has contributed lyrics. The album received positive reviews in the specialist press and radio stations and was nominated for the preselection of the German BiG Blues Awards 2014. Since 2015, the Sunhill Palace Band has also appeared as a backing band for artists such as Greg Copeland (USA), Laura Rosl (Laura & Friends) and the Omnibus Surprise Band Project LineUp (since 2015): Charles M.
