Carmella has proven she has the talent to write hit songs, 15 of her songs hit the Top 10 on the Independent Music Network Chart both Country and/or Mainstream. Fallen Heroes 9-11 co-written with Nelson Blanchard was Nominated by The Independent Country Music Association for (Song of the Year) in April 2012, Jimmy Fortune of the Statler Brothers took the Honor that Year. On April 28th, 2013 Carmella was honored as The (Female Songwriter of the Year) by the Cmg International Radio Network, Carmella and Nelson Blanchard also were honored as (The Songwriting Team of the Year) both Awards were received in Lebanon Tenn, at The Teddy Bear Festival to benefit The Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, Carmella was also awarded (Songwriter of the Year) by them again in 2015. Carmella was Award the (Country Female Songwriter of the Year) by Fishing Country Now + Cowgirl Divas Radio in 2016 and 2017 also in 2016 Carmella had been Awarded the (Country Female Songwriter of the Year ) at The Josie Music Awards the Largest Independent Award Show in the World held at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville Tennessee on Sept 18th. The following Year in 2017 Carmella and Nelson Blanchard both took home a (Song of the Year) Josie Music Award in the Rock/Classic Rock Category for (Mirror Mirror) at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville Tenn. Carmella wrote the Song and Nelson Blanchard produced and performed it. In 2020 Carmella was Awarded Female Songwriter of the Year by Fairplay Country Music Magazine ( The Red Carpet Music Awards Show in Holland) and in 2021 Carmella & Nelson Blanchard received the Award for Best overall Collaboration for their song Shadow Your Shadow, Nelson also received a Lifetime Achievement Award. Carmella and Nelson's Song "Where Is Our Sea, Blue Shining Sea? a song about The BP Oil Spill hit the Independent Music Country + Mainstream Chart, Nelson performed the vocals. Nelson is a Grammy Nominated artist with the Great Band Louisiana La Roux and a Louisiana Hall of Fame Inductee. Scott Innes (Voice of Scooby Doo) and CMA winner was gracious enough to perform the intro on the song. There Is Hope Records ( Musicians for Relief ) released a song she wrote (Just Like Long Ago) on their Charity released Cd titled There is Hope- (Disaster Relief USA ) (Homeless, Hungry, Crying in the Rain ) was released on their Musicians For Oil Relief Charity CD and (Just Imagine the Storm) on their A Lack of Empathy Charity CD: The American Dream. Music For Relief originated amongst the members of the band Linkin Park. Nelson also performed and produced all three Songs. Carmella wrote or Co-wrote Songs on 5 Charity released CD. Homeless, Hungry, Crying in the Rain made Twitters Cast T.V's video of the week first week out. Carmella has won a '"Suggested Artist" Award, Two "Honorable Mention" Awards a "Runner Up" Award and a "Semi Finalist" placement Award in 2010 from Vh1 Song of The Year. (Just Like Long Ago) (Trainwreck) (Her Heart is Broken) ( Homeless Hungry Crying in the Rain ) and 5 other Songs all became certified on Songvault.com . Carmella has had a 2 1/2 year run on The Independent Music Network Chart staying on every week but Four and has been featured on many of the sites where she is a member. You can hear Carmella's and Nelson's music on both Internet and Mainstream Radio..Another one of her highlight's was when she attended the 51st Grammy Awards with Nelson in 2009.
