Brian Wilson & Al Jardine at Davies Symphony Hall True legends of American popular music, Beach Boys mastermind Brian Wilson, founding member Al Jardine, and former Beach Boys guitarist Blondie Chapman reunite to perform material from Wilsons new solo album, No Pier Pressure, and a selection of Beach Boys classics. A peerless producer and performer, Wilson is the genius behind the pop masterpiece Pet Sounds, ranked #2 in Rolling Stones list of 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, and remains one of the most revered musical artists of the 20th Century. He is the subject of the new biographical film, Love & Mercy, starring John Cusack in the title role. An omnivorous consumer of jazz and pop music in his youth, Wilson was heavily influenced by the vocal harmonies of popular jazz a cappella group The Four Freshman, saying that their approach brings a feeling of love inside me.... That feeling of harmony. He used that inspiration to create the basis of the Beach Boys distinctive vocal sound, which has influenced legions of musicians to follow, including Paul McCartney and David Bowie. No Pier Pressure is a return to glory for Wilson, described by Rolling Stone as Wilson's most forward-looking solo LP. Jardine, who sang lead on some of the Beach Boys most memorable tracks, including the chart-topping Help Me Rhonda, contributed to No Pier Pressure and joins Wilson for this momentous evening, which also features a fellow Beach Boys alumnus, guitarist and singer Blondie ChaplinArtist Websitebrianwilson.comaljardine.com"hes a musical icon (both on his own and with the Beach Boys) who helped reinvent the idea of how pop music could be constructed " Entertainment Weekly"his influence on a new generation of nostalgists, choral-pop harmonists, psychedelic sound-scientists, and orchestral-rock geeks is profound " Rolling StoneShows You Might Also Enjoy...
