Brenda found herself in the company of many newly creative formations. While living in Savannah Georgia, she created The Savannah Project, that featured, George Sheck, (Edgar Winter's White Trash Band), Michael Moody, (Wild Cherry), and Max Christian, (Jimmy Ray Vaughn). Another is her jazz /funk latin group consisting of the area's most talented such as Eric Jones, on piano, usually called The Brenda Morie Group. In North Carolina there was Brenda Morie and the 4th St. Band with Calvin Napper and or Mike Pitts on drums, Turner Battle on Keys, Herb Stephens or Mitch Easter on guitars and Leroy Roberson or Nate Scott on bass. Then there is her duo and trio varieties. With that much versatility ones got to be flexible! Brenda performed and recorded with Savannah's Jazz Ambassador, Ben Tucker, and many other jazz musicians along the eastern seaboard.
Brenda began a second CD while studying Sound Design at The Savannah College of Art and Design. The CD is a new sound in Vintage Classic Rock when she has reunited upon her return to NC, The BiCoastals with deceased drummer and photographer, Robert Kirk and bassist, Andy Mabe who recently returned to his home in Winston Salem from years of recording and performing with Nashvilles's best. This group showcased Brenda's first instrument, guitar, as well as flute and harmonica's. Brenda was on the faculty part time at UNCSA Community Music School and certified at 4 levels of Musikgarten, an early childhood music and movement curriculum as well taught at Salem Montessori with the Music Together program.
Brenda recently returned from singing and teaching for almost two years in Hong Kong in 2015. Brenda had the long awaited opportunity to finally perform flute on Coming Home Baby with co-writer bassist, "Ben Tucker", when she lived in Savannah, Georgia. Brenda not only saw a long ago dream come true but is so thrilled to be part of so many refreshing bands.
Brenda looks forward to another new beginning once again.
