Bourbon & Bleach lays down the boogie-mess at 2pm. Candye Kane blows yer mind from 3 - 6pm.
“Race fans who queued up waiting for buses to take them back to satellite parking after last weekend's Indy Grand Prix of Alabama found themselves tapping their feet, but not in frustration with the length of the line. The Birmingham blues-rock band Bourbon & Bleach was in the middle of the parking lot, playing for patrons while they waited to board the buses at Barber Motorsports Park. Gene Hallman, chief executive of event organizer Zoom Motorsports, said the goal was to see that people left the race with smiles on their faces, even if their driver didn't win. Event staff also passed out cold drinks to those waiting for buses -- starting at the back of the lines. "We said, 'Hey, lets show off our Southern hospitality,'" Hallman said Wednesday. If an early look at a survey of ticket holders is any indication, race fans noticed. More than 3,000 people so far have taken a Zoom Motorsports survey gauging their race experience, Hallman said, and lots of them mentioned the band.”
