“From the swamps of North Carolina to the coal fields of West Virginia, a former Chapmanville area resident has returned home and brought some friends. Jason Coveyou is a member of the Blackwater Outlaws who will be performing at the Coalfield Jamboree this Saturday in Logan. The BlackWater Outlaws describe themselves as a group of musicians whose music reflects the ideas and strengths of the average, blue-collar, hard-working man and his family. Their website, www.blackwateroutlaws.com, says “We strive to write our songs from his point-of-view. We have this advantage because we, ourselves, are this man. We each know what hard work is all about because we are in it everyday. The carpenters, the mechanic, the landscaper, the roofer — yes, these are our lives — but our love for music has taken a stand also. “We also stand up for what we believe in and we want to give credit where credit is due. With this being said, let's talk about the coal miners.”

“Friends Of America Rally The Friends Of America Rally was held in Holden, WV on Labor Day, 09-07-09, on top of a mountain that is reclaimed coal mine land where a industrial park is to be built. Don Blankenship, the CEO of Massey energy, paid over a million dollars to hold the event to bring awareness to people losing their jobs due to the ridiculous regulations put on the coal industry and the ridiculous proposed cap & trade tax. Ted Nugent was the Master of Ceremony and Hank Williams Jr., John Rich, Blackwater Outlaws & Halfway To Hazard performed as well as Ted Nugent. Sean Hannity, Ted Nugent as well as others gave speeches. There was expected to be 100,000 people attending but even with the threat of rain all day 75,000 people attended. It was an awesome day!”
