About the Artist

Bill was born in Watertown NY. Bill's played in different rock bands. One, a former band Bill wrote an album with. (Lake Effect Mud) - Bill was a BIG contributor to the first self-titled release. (Songs like, "Gypsy Queen, Crashed," were structured and written prior to becoming part of that forming band. Since the early 2000's, Bill has been a solo effort and writes his own music. He plays a variety of instruments. His first (album), Angelic Being, is complete as of April 2017. It was recorded at an Upstate NY studio called, "Fifth Dimension Records," with Anthony Hirsch. Bill has played with local bands such as "WANTED," (with former FM "The Moose," radio DJ - Upstate NY) Mr. Dana Crouse. "The Lost Pariahs" another effort as well, with Mr. Tom Hanno of the Upstate NY area. Two songs on this effort were originally written with Tom H., at his apartment. "The Lost Pariahs," parted ways and two songs, "Pariah City and Dying to Live" were revamped musically & lyrically for this new release. Bill has worked one on one with individuals, writing songs and recorded guitar recordings for others. ("The Sound Ninja") You can find those songs on all streaming platforms. Examples of songs Bill recorded guitar tracks for are, "Lightning, The Window," and more. Bill writes alternative rock, heavier, mellow, and sometimes spiritually laced music. He hammers out his songs on his acoustic when playing alone. He sings, plays lead, rhythm guitar, writes lyrics, bass guitar, drums, keyboards and some harmonica. Bill believes music is therapeutic and a pure way to express oneself. He enjoys playing and believes in writing originals. Covers help perk up ears, however, when called for. Bill believes in fighting mental health stigma and addiction stigma. Additional musicians, (drums) - Jeremy Hill and Tom Hanno (guitar) at previous live shows. Also, as part of the "Wanted," band, Jason Ortlieb was one of the guitar players. Jason O. and Bill recorded a song that had been kicking around for years. It made it to the "Living Here May Be Hazardous to Your Health," album. (Sept. 2022 release) The song is called "Mistakes". It came about when Jason O. was playing his acoustic guitar at Bill's apartment. Bill decided it was music to his ears and said," "Wait, I like that, let me look in my files of lyrics." After a brief thought and thumbing through unused lyric sheets, Bill pulled out the lyrics for "Mistakes". Jason O. played one of the two guitars parts on the song and he sings background vocals. "Beauty in the Chaos," is another project Bill partook in with his wife, Kimberly A. Cavanagh. (poetess, writer, published books) - Amazon. This 25 poetry/song collection with two live tracks is an all original poetry/Bill D. original raw acoustic like songs. "Karmic Satisfaction" was recorded at Bill's own personal studio. This album is more of a pop/rock effort. Bill was experimenting and branching out musically. Since having his own studio and learning on his own, Bill is also self-taught musically. This album is also available on all streaming sites. About a year later, Bill released his (2022) self-recorded effort. "Living Here May Be Hazardous to Your Health." It's on all streaming platforms. This effort is a rock/alternative styled album. As of April 2024, Bill released another 10 song album effort. The album called, "The Insanity of Humanity," was recorded in Bill's studio. All music and lyrics are performed by him, exception of a couple guest musicians. (Rob Finn and Sunsetta Cavanagh-Draper). Bill's main musical influences are bands "Aerosmith, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Metallica) Also, artists like "Alanis Morissette and Julian Lennon". There are two guest performers on this release. Jason O. "Mistakes" and Sunsetta, Bill's daughter. (now 13 yeas old) as of August 2023. Sunsetta played on the tracks "Sinsation," (Saxophone) and "Don't Be Afraid." (Keys). Sunsetta also provided the album cover art for this release (LHMBHTYH) with her Dad's (Bill's) concept. This was created, prior to being age 12. Bill would like to thank all his supports and family, Kimberly A. Cavanagh and her family. Friends. Bill's daughters, Emma and Sunsetta, who are both extremely talented self-taught musicians as well! Also, Kim's kids, they have a good head on their shoulders and a huge heart of gold! To Kim's children, Joel and Mandy, a BIG thank you. All these kids, not so much kids anymore - I would say, as "Rod Stewart" would say are, "Forever Young." Especially in the eyes of a parent watching their child develop.
