“Beckon wants fans to share short video clips for the duo's Beautiful Life video. The Owen Sound area singer/songwriters, Beth Hamilton and Connie Rossiter, are asking for video clips 10 seconds long showing your beautiful moments -- a wedding, a child's first steps, and especially scenes from this area.....It's the duo's first commercial video, and the song will be the first single released from their first CD...”

“LOCAL MUSICIANS COMING TOGETHER FOR ONE BIG WINTER NIGHT OF FUN: I think Josh Richardson is onto something. The Owen Sound musician and impresario's intriguing Lupercalia Winter Art and Culture Festival promises at the very least a long, pleasant, diverting evening….Off the top, what I like about Lupercalia is its sole reliance, at least for now, on entirely regional and mostly Owen Sound-area performers --singers, songwriters, musicians who play instruments, people who coax sound out of a variety of electronic devices, film makers, visual artists..."It's total grassroots," Richardson said. " We're relying on local business. It's really community based."... They range from favourite stalwart veterans like songwriters Larry Jensen, Bryan Leckie and Wagler and Morelli, all at Norma Jean's, and Beckon (The Ginger Press), to young bands and emerging Indiestyle performers like Liam Sanagan (The River Cafe) and better-known local rockers like Undergound 66 and Rajasi (Jazzmyn's)...”
“BUILDING A DREAM ON BORROWED GUITARS: One only needs to be in the presence of Beth Hamilton and Connie Sinclair-Rossitter for a matter of seconds in order to realize that there is something special about them. The Owen Sound residents who make up the musical duo 'Beckon' took some time out of their busy schedules this week to sit down with The Independent over some coffee at McGinty's to talk about their journey toward establishing a career in music. “DUO BECKONS YOU TO FARMERS' MARKET: Last Friday those that visited the Meaford Farmers' Market were treated to the guitar driven, southern influenced sounds of recording artist and new Meaford resident Will Matthews, and the entertainment continues this Friday as market patrons will be able to enjoy the soothing voices of up and coming Owen Sound duo Beckon. Beth Hamilton and her song-smith partner Connie Sinclair Rossiter have had a busy summer writing and performing music in the Grey-Bruce area and beyond including a recent performance at Owen Sound's 'OTHERfolk' Festival. Sinclair-Rossitter is a fourth generation resident of the area, Hamilton is a recent transplant, and together they are making music that resonates with images of tranquil living away from the big city, and an earthiness that can only be found in a rural community. “Connie Sinclair-Rossitter was just five the first time she sang in public. It was for the 1980 Sun Times/CFOS Christmas broadcast. She gave the crowdI Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, and performed at the annual event each year after that until shyness took over in her early teens. No longer shy, and busily building a following as one half of the singing and songwriting duo Beckon, Sinclair-Rossitter will be back on the Roxy stage and on the air Sunday with duo partner Beth Hamilton as part of the 70th annual charity broadcast. Raised near Kemble, Sinclair- Rossitter recently returned to the family farm to raise her own family, after years in Toronto, Calgary and Orangeville, where she met and began singing with Beckon's Beth Hamilton.
