“Some albums remind you of an era. That can be a two edged sword, depending on the era. Avenues’ Creep Show EP transports me to one of my favorite musical times – 1990s punk. If your mind just conjured up the sounds of Green Day, or Offsprings numerous hits, then shame on you. I’m talking of the indie punk explosion that brought Epitaph Records to its current status, Lookout Records in its heyday and the early releases of Fat Wreck Chords. In the early 90s these labels cranked out one high quality band after another that mixed pop punk with enough piss and vinegar to avoid radio clichés. Avenues has chosen that road, and the result is pretty stellar. Avenues have honed their craft to a point where I can only liken them to the best of what the genre has to offer. There are no sloppy performances on this release, and the production is crisp, allowing the band’s powerful approach to speak clearly to the masses. Punk rock is back, and its name is Avenues.”
