Q: Appropriate and brief eh? There go most of my questions? Ok here is a cool question for you Autumn, lyrics or melody which is more important to you?

A: Thanks for the question, Tracy. For me, lyrics win hands down everytime. I am a lyricist and poet before a composer (although I do get into and enjoy the composing side of it). While I can forgive a less than stellar melody or a boring chord progression, I really can't forgive bad lyrics - they make me want to cry in a bad way. I always endeavour to write songs that have meaningful lyrics that are carried in a vehicle of interesting, moving, and evocative music. The best songs are well balanced that way.
