Q: How did the bass player learn to play? My son wants to learn bass but hates learning to read music and lessons.

A: Hello - Chad the bass player here. I took piano when I was a young lad - but by the age of 12 I basically started teaching myself bass by listening to 90s bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, STP, RHCP, RATM, 311, and later, at the urging of Ben the guitarist, Weather Report. Ha! Learning to play your favorite songs is a great place to start. I took bass lessons here and there, but only a handful. I would like to start up again. Check out Scott's bass lessons for beginner to advanced YouTube lessons! VERY cool. Try to use proper technique, it will help you get better faster. Thanks for dropping a line. Keep in touch and rock on! https://www.youtube.com/user/devinebass
