My Name is Drew / Press

"Delaware indie punk band My Name Is Drew opened with an upbeat set, as singer/guitarist Ethan Freeman immediately established and maintained a positive, crowd-inviting vibe throughout selections including a punk cover of Oasis’ “Wonderwall.” Guitarist Curtis Jackson joined in on the act by engaging bassist Zachary Schroeder in a secret handshake (during the opening number, “Inside My Head”) and in an apparent mind meld (during “The Other Side”) as well as attempting a little crowd surfing. The playfulness was complemented by drummer Rob Graves’ Captain America helmet and intense, hard hitting drumming."

"The Delaware rock outfit, My Name is Drew opened the show with a tremendous energy. Their hand crafted props consisted of large balloons which were kicked into the crowd along with plaster ball piñatas containing confetti and free merch. The audience supported the group during their song “Green Light Go” by singing along after receiving auditory directions from vocalist Ethan Freeman. However, their involvement fell short, and so did guitarist, Curtis Jackson when he took a leap of faith into the audience. After recovering from the failed stage dive he returned to his spot beside Freeman, pointed to the crowd and clearly exclaimed “Be ready. I’m coming back for you.” During the final song Jackson tried his luck again, this time, with better results and MNiD finished their set with a roaring round of applause."

For a band that has played with acts such as Anarbor, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Foxy Shazam, Panic! At The Disco and Weezer they are exceedingly humble. My Name is Drew is a band that has set high musical and moral standards for themselves. They take their music and performances seriously and appreciate all the success and support they”

"...Tonight's Radio 104.5 4th Birthday Show is showcasing one of Delaware's up-and-coming bands, My Name is Drew, and unfortunately knowledge about this achievement is little know to Delawareans. Thus, I decided to pen this article to reveal the band's big-break, and also describe their incredible, and short, journey to the top..."

“My Name Is Drew – Most bands would be hard-pressed to write, self-record and self-release a full length debut album in just over a year and live to tell the tale. Eclectic alternative/indie rockers My Name Is Drew aren’t like most bands. The band credits their success to the great friendship the members share. Check out the results of their hard work in the playlist below”
