“If anyone thought mainstream Indie Rock went out of style, apparently they failed to hear 'The Avisi', the South Wales quartet who has taken Wales by storm with the omnipresent anthem, "Alternative Love Song". Although it may have seemed that 'The Avisi' was an overnight success, nothing could be further from the truth. The band, fronted by singer Carl Ward and his close friend Gavin Powell on guitar, started as a cover band in Swansea, Wales. By 2009, the band decided that it was time to begin using their own material; with modern influences such as 'The Killers', 'Kasabian', and 'The Enemy'.
