Lei Row is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter/recording artist/DJ from Pennsylvania who is becoming known more and more for her nostalgic sound and style in music. As a singer-songwriter, Lei has written and vocally produced in different genres from r&b/soul, to pop, to electro, to hip-hop, and her resume includes work with various artists, songwriters, and producers from different cities of the U.S. east coast and Europe.
As an artist, Lei has received national and international acclaim with her 2010 EP "Lei Row presents Euphoria," which is available on CD-Baby.com, Amazon mp3, and iTunes (www.cdbaby.com/LeiRow). Since her EP release, Lei has performed in different cities/venues on the east coast. Some of her performances include renowned New York City nightclub "The Sugar Bar" owned by legendary Motown songwriting duo "Ashford & Simpson"; Ebony Magazine & Pine Sol's "Sisterspeak" in Philadelphia, PA; stage play "Law & Disorder" in Harrisburg, PA; "Miami Music Festival"; and "Harrisburg Music Festival” just to name a few. Lei is a Harrisburg, PA native; however, Philadelphia has been a 2nd stomping ground and strong influence for the songstress. Currently, Lei is a member of the Recording Academy -Philadelphia Chapter and has placed in the top 10 and 20 of the Philadelphia R&B/Soul charts on “Reverb Nation” (www.reverbnation.com/LeiRow). Through the years, some of Lei's performances in Philly include "Warmdaddy's"; "Elena’s Soul Lounge"; and "The Let Out" just to name a few. In 2010, Lei placed as a “Top 10 Singer” in the “Soul Star Search” of Philadelphia which was hosted and judged by legendary record executive/music mogul Andre Harrell and Philadelphia’s own multi-platinum producers Carvin Haggins and Ivan Barias.
More recently, Lei received the opportunity to work with accomplished singer-songwriter/artist Shaliek Rivers where she sang background vocals on his album "Blood Sweat Tears," song "Fillin In The Blanks" (http://www.allmusic.com/album/blood-sweat-tears-mw0002607792/credits).
As a DJ, Lei goes by another name: "DJ worieL." Since beginning her DJ journey, Lei has been mentored by some of the best DJs in the game and has played at various events in and around the city of Harrisburg, PA for various city-wide and private entertainment events. She was trained through the Scratch DJ Academy-NYC, which was founded by the late great Jam Master Jay of renowned hip-hop trio RUN DMC. Two of her most acclaimed DJ performances was playing at a party featuring legendary hip-hop artist "Slick Rick" (which was hosted by the African American Chamber of Commerce-Central PA Chapter) and being the DJ for the City of Harrisburg's 2015 New Years Eve Celebration.
Because it is an honor for her to give back through music, Lei is a singer-songwriter for the "Songs of Love Foundation,” a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing personalized songs for children and teens currently facing tough medical, physical or emotional challenges, free of charge (www.songsoflove.org). In 2012, Lei was a dancer in “Dancing With the Stars of Central Pennsylvania,” a philanthropic project hosted the Greater Pennsylvania Chapter of The Alzheimer's Association and Central Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra.
