Formed around 2006 as a two-piece (Roth and Archibald), HMOOC wrote numerous songs as well as reviving Smashy Smashy songs(Roth+ several rotating members). HMOOC recruited guitarist Brian Simakis (who later recorded HMOOC's debut album) for a short stink. Unable to find a crowd for their style of music in Columbus, Ohio, HMOOC went on hiatus.
At the end of 2011 HMOOC reformed and around the time of Columbus' Dude Locker (a DIY warehouse event held in October, annually since 2009), recruited James R. Fisher to pick up the guitar. This worked out very well and HMOOC went on a one week tour of cities surrounding Ohio, which coincided with the release of their debut 12" record "Ben Franklin Also Invented This..." The record was released solely outside of Columbus, Ohio, as there was not much of an audience in their hometown. A few record stores picked up copies but sales were meager.
In September of 2012 HMOOC hit the road again for a 2 week tour, again in cities surroundiing Ohio. At this point the band realized it was time to play mostly on the road.
Again another tour in 2013, this time 28 shows in 31 days heading to California and back, the guys pushed their limits to support their new record "Hello, Earth Bitch." Although there were 3 cancellations, the gospel of HMOOC was spread over 1/2 of the country, and friends were made. After playing shows in Ohio, Indiana, Wisconson, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and back to Ohio, they called it a success.
A record release for "Hello, Earth Bitch" (released on tour before anywhere in Columbus) and another new record, "From Hookers Made Out Of Cocaine With Love" is to be held this Saturday at Dude Locker, HMOOC's base of operations.
