Dave Britt / Press

“Dave Britt — 12:30 p.m. Dave Britt’s been making music, in various guises, around these parts for the better part of two decades now, but his current, eponymous outfit is easily his best yet. Buoyed by a rhythm section comprising bassist Jamie Beresford and drummer Steve Sancho, Britt’s latest songs straddle easygoing alt-country twang and late-’90s British crunch, capturing the empirical rewards offered by both. — Patrick Wall”

“Columbia, South Carolina based singer-songwriter Dave Britt, formerly of roots rock band The Rival Brothers, is gearing up to release his highly-anticipated sophomore solo album in January of next year. Britt has given the album the title, 10,000 Miles and he is currently in the studio writing, recording and producing the album himself with the assistance of the super-tight rhythm section made up of bassist James Baresford and drummer Steve Sancho. In anticipation of the album’s eventual release he has released ”10,000 Miles Away”, the first single from the upcoming album as a preview of what’s to come. Currently, the song can be streamed from his website or purchased from the iTunes store. As with his promising debut album, Sweet Temptation, Britt crafts an Americana-laced rock sound that marries elements of folk and pop that recalls everyone from Jason Isbell, early Bright Eyes and Wilco. Deciding to pursue a solo career seems to have been a wise choice as his rich voice.”
