“Saturday night will rock your shoes off! Barefoot Showcase & Bentley Murdock teamed up with Soles4Souls & look forward to a night of great music & sole-giving. Barefoot Showcase, based in CA, was started by Bentley Murdock, to help beginning musicians get more publicity. 11 local bands were chosen from the 500 who auditioned to take part in the Showcase. As part of that endeavor, professional camera and studio-sound crews will be recording the performance and putting it on DVDs and CDs to be sold. Those who donate a pair of shoes, will receive discount on admission. Soles4Souls is a nonprofit organization that collects gently worn and new shoes to give to victims of natural disasters or those living in poverty. Barefoot Showcase & Soles4Souls are working together, "changing the world, one pair at a time."”

“Sole survivors: No business like no-shoe business at Provo's Barefoot Event Center: Utah Valley is bursting with artistic talent hoping to get its foot in the door of success. The Barefoot Event Center wants to provide that door, said Bentley Murdock, the center's owner. The center cycles through at least 12 to 15 people per month, bringing back its favorite musicians several times. "We try and feature as many musicians as we can," Murdock said, "giving them the opportunity to play live in front of a crowd their music would not have usually catered to." These musicians have heard about the events center by word of mouth from friends or other musicians. They are given 30 minutes to perform their pieces. The event center, according to Murdock, has tried to step away from the "dirty grunge" atmosphere of most band venues, creating more of a family-friendly feeling. Because of this atmosphere, people of all ages have come and participated in the center's events.”

“After opening for Kalai, in December of 2007, Kalai was asked to comment about Bentley Murodck's performance. To which he responded, "Bentley is the male equivalent of Allison Krauss".”
