Aprylle Gilbert, a musician and long-distance runner, is running across the US on Route 6, the first person known to have run across the country on historic US Route 6. The National US Route 6 Tourist Association is assisting the US Route 6 Charity Run 2015. Aprylle is running all 3,652 miles of US 6, having started in Long Beach, CA and running to Provincetown, MA in support of disadvantaged children. She expects to reach Provincetown in September or October. Aprylle is currently in central Iowa and expected to reach the Quad Cities on Friday, July 31 and to present a concert from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, August 1 at River Music Experience.US Route 6 Iowa is assisting with this great cause.
