As a child I composed songs to the rumbling whir of my parents automobiles heard while pressing my ear to the floorboards. I got my first guitar, a Stella 3/4 size, in second grade. After my first official paid lesson, in tiny room with an old spinet piano, I walked to the street corner just outside the house. In the brisk air I was approached by a high school age musician who, seeing my guitar case, and carrying a larger well-worn case himself, asked me to join his band - after interviewing me. Never did figure out if he was serious. It has all been up from there. ................................................................................................................................................................
In childhood dreams, before I knew about the internet, I imagined accessing all the knowledge of all the libraries of the world, and hearing all the music of the world, from a screen before a seat at a desk. Now that sharing continues to unfold all around us, making us ever stronger, I have new dreams which fuel new music. The snake eats its tail. ................................................................................................................................................................
I am music, heard, made, shared, and loved. We all are. May we all keep singing. Can I get an amen?
