Andy Lackow & Mess Around is based in Northern New Jersey. While predominantly a blues band they play an eclectic mix that also includes blues-rock, roots-rock, soul, funk, New Orleans R&B and a little country as well. Andy Lackow & Mess Around features Andy Lackow on guitar & vocals, Steve Skinner on keys, Curtis Fowlkes on bass and Sal Coffaro on drums.
They have enjoyed entertaining crowds at various New Jersey venues such as the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC), Roxy & Dukes Road House in Dunellen, Rocky’s Bar & Grill in Rahway, Crossroads in Garwood, Ruthie's BBQ in Montclair, The Brass Rail in Hoboken, The Grande Saloon in Clifton, Hat City Kitchen in Orange, SuzyQue's BBQ in West Orange, the Robin's Nest in Linden, Great Notch Inn in Little Falls, The Blue Moon in South Amboy, Zupko's Tavern in Dunellen, The Wagon Wheel in Bergenfield as well as outdoor festivals in South Orange, Maplewood, Fort Lee and numerous private parties.
Some of the tunes they cover are well known but many are often obscure or are seldom covered. Andy Lackow plans on going back to writing original material in the coming year. Besides being lead guitarist and vocalist, Andy Lackow is a visual artist by trade and creates all of the band's visual graphics, promotional material and branding and is available for hire to do the same for your band.
