I am blues, rock, funk, classics and jazz musician, guitarist and composer.
All my compositions are originally composed by myself and my band Alice - A Rock-Blues Band of Excellence and Atmosphere consists of me playing and singing all Instruments, my major Instruments, however, are Guitar (classical, accoustic and Electric), Violin (classical and Electric), Keyboards (Piano, Melotrone, Organ, Synthesizer etc.), Drums/Percussion, Bass, Blues Harps, Clarinette and Saxophone.
Blues / Classical Rock (Genesis and Pink Floyd) / Experimental Rock are just me, one-man-bands.
My music is unique and tries to explore new possibilities of structure, content, composition, melody, and rhythm.....and what is more: I play all instruments, I compose all songs, I write the texts and I live the stories behind my themes.
I have decided to produce only my own music and not to depend on Big Labels. I sometimes sing on smule and cover many nice songs of the 70ies to now.
I believe my strength and my passion lies in my own phantasies, trying to combine what I have learnt in the study of musicology at the J.W. Goethe-University Frankfurt (1976-1981) and in my instrumental music.
Since I started music with 5 years old, I always practiced the violin for 8 hours and later the guitar for 6 hours a day. I started to play in my elementary school in my hometown Prague (1962-1969) , and since my father was a leading economist and the right hand of Ota Sik in the time of Spring of Prague (1968), the invasion of the Varsovie troops under the Leadership of the Former Sovietunion forced us to leave the homeland. The emigration to Vienna (1968-1969), Munich ( to a classical colege Pestalozzi Gymnasium with Old Greek and Latin and Music as Major subjects in 1969-1971) and Frankfurt am Main to the famous Johann Wolfgang Goethe Gymnasium (1971-1976) with major subjects Latin, English and Music including Abitur in English and Music with Distinction were important for my musical career and my linguistic career later as Professor of Slavic Linguistics at the University of Potsdam (1993-2021). At the famous J.W. Goethe- Gymnasium, I started to play in the school Bands:
The founding of my first band at Goethe was the Los Angeles Blues Band, which later became the famous Frankfurt City Blues Band. To follow were the bands: Massada (1971-1974), Nurse (1974-1978), Lizard (1978-1990 which was a very successful local band from Kelkheim / Taunus, 1979 opening act for the Scorpions in the Marburg town hall broadcasted by TV Hessen 3 in 1979n and opening my career as professional guitarist and musician). Other bands in my time in Frankfurt until I moved to Berlin and Potsdam were Broken Glass, Sprinstorm, Zauberberg, Cetan Mani.
In Falkensee and Brieselang I founded the Phoenix Band, and later Alice - A Rock-Blues Band of Excellence and Atmosphere..
It is with great regret that I have to announce the early death of my comusicians: Wolfgang Freund, the former keyboarder of Lizard who died on a Tumor /Cancer of Brain (he was only 27).
In 2020, Alexander Stams my bass guitarist and Vocalist of Nurse and Springstorm died on Delta/Covid19 only recently. R.I.P. my dear friends! We will meet one day again in the heaven of Sounds and love.
