Acoustic Astronaut
Biography
Acoustic Astronaut® is an independent band from New Mexico. Their songs are plainspoken and story-driven, built on acoustic guitar, worn-in vocal performances, and themes of faith, loss and redemtion. Rather than chasing trends, they write about ordinary people at turning points, and record the material the way it was written — direct, unpolished, and focused on the lyrics.
Their first professional recordings were at Santa Fe Soundworks in the early 2000s, working with engineer David Cragin. After tumultuous and successful releases under the Racecar moniker with songs like “Mystical Ages” & “Dance Like a Ghost”, they hibernated for a decade before being reborn as Acoustic Astronaut . Then, new and old material were recorded with assistance from artists from around the world, spawning the relative hits “Destruction Mill” and “In Heaven”. Their music is available on Spotify and YouTube. A greatest-hits vinyl LP is also available.
