*The Doors*, The Mission, New Order, Ultravox!, Siouxsie and the Banshees
"Special thanks to MR Nigel Colley at www.reflexartists.com for his excellent work promoting the band, which has helped us to secure a deal with Upper Street Music."
They were the scariest, best kept darkest secret of the Belfast scene. Gothic post punks in the latest trendy threads, obscured by a Smokey veil of dry ice and faux occult imagery (but was it actually pretend ?) . Before they would perform their on stage rites, the band would insist on all the lights in the hall being turned off. The room was in complete "darkness" creating a strange but very effective and ominous atmosphere.
They took to the postage stamp sized stages of venues like the 'Harp bar' or 'The Pound' in a blaze of epilepsy fit inducing strobe lights and ear splitting feedback, amid hissing white noise, punctuated with slabs of stabbing guitar and pierced by contorted screams and howls. Reciting the lords prayer backwards, with the holy words masquerading as lyrics to the opening song, was another favourite intro. The drums would pound from a massive kit designed for stadiums not a shoebox sized club, physically assaulting the audience's senses and shaking the venue to it”
