“Susan and I received a couple of demos from Annie Mack to preview, for an online radio show we have called Blues' Belles. Annie's demos were obviously up against some crazy tough competition, it was fun to actually like them, and we decided to play one (Fool To Believe) on our March 15th show. Fast forward to April 7 and Susan and I noticed that some of the ladies we had previously read about, with Blues Women International, were playing nearby and that Annie Mack was one of them so we went. Having listened to and liked a couple of demos didn't prepare us for Annie's performance. Live, she could stretch out over different tempos, mix it up, and really work with the crowd. Her voice was very powerful, but never over the top, and perfectly clear. She was also able to maintain a raw edge without resorting to shouting or getting shrill and was equally adept at bringing down the Blues to a low rumble. She, and her band, truly ignited the crowd. ”
