“Despite entertainment enthusiasts being swallowed in local dancehall music, a new hip-hop musician, Kunashe Kutama, affectionately known as Amiz in music circles, has become the talk of the town after the release of a 10-track album titled Dreams of August. The 24-year old rapper is already causing a stir on local showbiz and his efforts are a force to reckon within the local music industry. The album follows that of a successful hip-hop mixtape – My Life A Movie – that did well on local hip-hop charts. Amiz, the man behind great tracks Zvakadzora and Sango Reshumba, said he was happy to release his debut album after four years in the showbiz. He said hip-hop music will never die despite dancehall music being popular these days. “All along, I was releasing mixtapes and singles but this year, God, I managed to release an album.”
