Tongwynlais Temperance Band

The band competes in the Championship Section in the National Brass Band Championships, We also give numerous concerts throughout Wales and the UK each year as a full band (25 and percussion) or as a smaller group (10-15) to play music to suit the occasion. Tongwynlais Temperance Band have been crowned Scottish Open Champions in 2011, National First Section Champions 2009 and The Pontins Championship Section Champion Band for 2009. In 2010 the Band, qualified for the National Championships in London's RAH and the British Open Brass Band Championship in Birmingham's Symphony Hall in September. These are considered by most to be the best contests in the world. In 2012 Tongwynlais competed at the National Championships and gained an excellent 4th place at this prestigious event. Tongwynlais Temperance Band strives for musical excellence both on the contest stage and in concerts whilst pushing the boundries of the genre to a new scope, and is considered one of the leading UK brass bands.
