The StoneCoats

We are The StoneCoats, a blues rock band from Brandon, Mississippi, which began four years ago this October when two brothers and a best friend got together with a passion for music and a passion to change the world for the better. Our members consist of Brannon Barnett age 26-lead guitarist/lead vocalist, Carson Bristow age 19-lead guitarist/rhythm guitarist, Leighton Bristow age 21-drummer/bassist, and Ashten Frisella age 22- bassist/backup vocalist. Over the past year we have been very fortunate, once again, to have had so many wonderful opportunities with our music. We were selected to perform for The Hard Rock Rising Competition this year at The Hard Rock Cafe in New Orleans and ended up in the final round finishing second overall. We were also nominated for The Mississippi Music Awards for Best New Artist of the Year and Best Original Song, which we performed live at the awards show. This was such an honor for all of us, not only to perform, but to meet so many talented artists both young and old from our home state. We have also had the honor of being nominated for The 2015 AMG Artist Guild Awards in November of this year in North Carolina and asked back to play several private and public events for The Mississippi Braves in Jackson, MS just to name a few. The opportunities we have had to travel all over playing in college towns, local music festivals, and all kinds of venues, has allowed us to grow and mature as artists and learn the business from the ground up from other artist and individuals much older and wiser than us. Our fan base has also continued to grow both regionally as we tour, and globally as we continue to learn how to connect with fans from all over through social media. We are always appreciative when we hear from fans at shows or hear from them on social media from around the world. We wish to thank all of you for your continued support and encouragement. The most exciting news is that our first album is in its final stages of production! We have been diligently working, when not in school or on the road, with a crew of awesome producers, engineers, and staff at American Recording Studio in Memphis, TN. Engineers Will Gilbert and Andrew McCarty have given us much of their time, efforts, and professional insight, ensuring that our new album has that unique sound for which our fans and followers have come to expect. Combine Will and Andrew's talent with the insight and guidance of both Brad Dunn and David Gicking, and we feel the album will be a huge success! We are also extremely excited that Larry Nix and his son, Kevin Nix, of the renowned L Nix Mastering mastered the album. Once again, not only an honor, but very humbling to have worked with such greats on a first album! The insights, wisdom, and mentoring, from these men, along with all the captivating stories and history lessons from Brad Dunn, have been an invaluable education that we shall always remember, cherish, and apply to our own careers. We can't thank all of you enough. You guys are awesome! As of right now, our album is about to be in the distribution phase and should be out in September of 2015. With all of this, we work hard and are dedicated to our craft, always pushing ouselves to the limit, striving to do our best. We love what we do and can play so many different genres, but right now our music seems to have a sound unique unto itself. When we start playing, the magic just seems to happen, the lyrics start flowing, and the song seems to write itself. We are very thankful to be so blessed with our music and all the opportunities we have been given. When the time is right, we hope to take our music to the world stage, helping change the world for the better, spreading the message of unity and brotherhood as we travel.
