Stasis

Stasis (previously known as Modo) is the nocturnal incarnation of UK experimental composer OTL. On returning home alone after clubbing at night, and unwilling to awaken anyone, it was found necessary to keep himself entertained whilst unable to sleep. So, equipped with an old Roland synthesizer, a guitar FX pedal, some earphones and a PC, he set to work - stirring peaceful sounds around and moving quietness from left to right and from high to low. The results were some very raw minimal recordings, like Brian Eno but after a darker fashion, and required subtle reworking to make them humanly listenable. The project was an enjoyable one, and we hope we have been able to preserve some of the feeling of the original late-night recording sessions in their current form. Stasis as an artist will probably not return unless OTL goes back to having sleepless nights again, so we hope you enjoy these recordings and the album: 'Small Hours' as they capture an unique artist at his zenith.
