Founded in 2010 by award winning vocalist Sarah Mucho and guitarist Kurt Leege, they blend elements of bluegrass, country, soul and rock into a distinctively fresh, yet authentic sound. The music is an intricate canvas of stringed instrument brushstrokes propelled by compelling lyrics and a rousing, dynamic rhythm section. Sarah’s voice, described as a "bold, ethereal vibrato", is also backed by Pete O'Connell (bass), Jay Cowit (drums) and Gypsy George Mihalopoulos (banjo/mandolin/piano). In May 2014, they released their third studio album 'Riverbed', 13 powerful tracks full of life, joy, struggle and transcendence. 'Riverbed' received acclaim as one of the best albums of the year in New York Music Daily and the first single from the album, 'The Great Escape', received the nod for song of the year and was featured on Soundcheck's Gig Alerts on WNYC. They recorded their debut album, ‘Any Day Now’ in 2010 and released their second, ‘Ice and Blood’ in 2012, unfolding a even wider sound stage with powerful individual performances and sophisticated arrangements. The Sometime Boys have been mesmerizing New York crowds with shows featuring both original material and gripping re-interpretations of covers from a wide variety of source material.
