Kortnee Simmons

Most artists spend a lifetime perfecting what others make effortless. Kortnee Simmons is a New York-based artist whose music combines elements of R&B, neo-soul, and funk to create a laid-back and intimate sound. Drawing inspiration from his own personal experiences and emotions, as well as films and other media, Kortnee writes heartfelt and expressive songs that connect with his audience on a deeper level. Growing up in the church, Kortnee developed a strong foundation in music and singing, and his vocals have been compared to those of John Legend and Donny Hathaway. However, he cites Brandy as his all-time favorite vocalist and a major influence on his own sound. In addition to his work as a singer-songwriter and recording artist, Kortnee has recently delved into production and is looking to explore sync opportunities and film/tv composition. He is driven not only by his own career goals but also by a desire to give back to the communities that have supported him and to provide more opportunities for professional and educational development in the arts. Kortnee is dedicated to building a lasting legacy through his music and business ventures. His extensive vocal capability, introspective lyrics, and ethereal soundscape were recognized early. In 2007, he was recognized by Maurice Starr and tapped to perform with Chris Brown during a local event in Stuart, FL. After the event, he would be recognized by the late R&B legend, Betty Wright. Since the release of his first single, Kortnee has garnered international press, rave reviews, and over 64 million streams globally. In 2021, he was recognized as one of the top 2K artists in the world by Chartmetric. He has also been included on the iTunes Pop - Daily (Guatemala), iTunes Pop - Daily (Hong Kong), iTunes All Genres- Daily (Guatemala), Apple Music Alternative - Daily (Lao People's Democratic Republic), and Apple Music Côte d'Ivoire R&B/Soul Charts. His latest single, 'Be Honest', is available everywhere now.
