THE URBAN FOLKSINGER: The “Urban Folksinger,” Theo Czuk is a songwriter, novelist and poet. A Motown expatriate, Theo infuses his songwriting with a heaping helping of groove. Songs of love and loss? With a rust-belt groove bolted under vocal, piano and guitar, songsmith Theo Czuk brings a gritty urban blue-collar sound to songs of love and hope and survival. Raised in the shadow of factories on the asphalt of Detroit Boulevards’, ex-patriots of the steel and ore factory towns of Pittsburgh and New Jersey and Philadelphia and Chicago and Cleveland will recognize the these familiar sounds. Theo's CD, TOO MANY SHADOWS, was Indie Music Digest nomination for 2014 CD of the year (Too Many Shadows). Theo's 2nd novel, HASTINGS STREET: Boulevard Of Blues, won the 2020 the CLUE Award for best in suspense/noir. Theo's 1st novel, HEART-SCARRED, won the "Best Literary Western" in the prestigious LARAMIE Book Award for 2014. IN 2020 the novel HEART-SCARRED was inducted into the LARAMIE WESTERN WRITERS HALL OF FAME. As a poet, in 2026, two song lyrical efforts of Theos have been included in the prestigeous EMERALD LITERARY GUILD's RIVER ROAD ANTHOLOGY, offering the best of selected poems from Oregon, joining over 140 poets in this decade-long hunt.
