The Bob O'Connor Band
Guitar/Vocals/Bass/Keyboard – Robert O’Connor Robert is from Chicago. He has been playing guitar and in rock bands since the age of 12. He has been under the influence of the likes of Robert Johnson, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Carlos Santana, and Eric Clapton for many years. In 1984 he became a member of The Effigies (see Allmusic.com/The Effigies), and released two full-length LPs on the Fever/Restless label. With The Effigies Robert has opened shows with Run DMC at Chicago’s Vic Theatre, and headlined shows from the Cabaret Metro in Chicago to Raj’s in Los Angeles. A US tour followed in 1986 that included dates with Flaming Lips, Jane’s Addiction, and Guns-N-Roses. A song co-authored by Robert became a club hit in Germany, which resulted in an offer to join Metallica on their 1986/1987 European tour. Since that time Robert has been in several performing bands and has also added guitar work as a guest on CDs released by others, as well as his own projects. Robert’s first love has always been the blues. So here is The Bob O’Connor Band.
