He made his operatic debut in Donizetti’s LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR then he has sung in PAGLIACCI, TOSCA, RIGOLETTO and LA BOHEME for Opera de Monterrey. For Palm Beach Opera has participated in their productions of LA BOHEME, TROVATORE, THE MAGIC FLUTE, LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR, AIDA and Rossini’s PETITE MESSE SOLENNELLE. Mr. Gonzalez made his Houston Grand Opera debut as Italian Singer in R. Strauss’s DER ROSENKAVALIER opposite Reneé Fleming followed by Verdi’s ATTILA with Samuel Ramey in the title role. He enjoyed great success for his portrayals of French heroes for Houston Grand Opera as Roméo in Gounod’s ROMEO ET JULIETTE and the title role in Gounod’s FAUST. For Aspen Music Festival and Teatro Lirico d’Europa he appeared as B.F. Pinkerton in Puccini’s MADAMA BUTTERFLY and for Sarasota Opera he portrayed Federico in Cilea’s L’ARLESIANA in its American Première, Don José in Bizet’s CARMEN and Corrado in Verdi’s IL CORSARO, for Connecticut Grand Opera and Teatro Lirico d’Europa he appeared as Duca di Mantova in Verdi’s RIGOLETTO and for Opera Tampa, Gars Festival in Austria, Connecticut Opera and Edmonton Opera as Alfredo in Verdi’s LA TRAVIATA. Mr. González had a wonderful debut for Los Angeles Music Center Opera as Rodolfo in Puccini’s LA BOHEME followed by FLORENCIA EN EL AMAZONAS, LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR , RIGOLETTO and LA BOHEME again. His European debut took place in Barcelona, España in Verdi’s MESSA DA REQUIEM with the Barcelona Symphony and also for his debut with the Mexican National Symphony followed by B.F. Pinkerton in Puccini’s MADAMA BUTTERFLY for Opera de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. His interpretion of the verdian and verismo repertory has been praised in the USA, among them Manrico in IL TROVATORE, Rodolfo in LUISA MILLER, Don Alvaro in LA FORZA DEL DESTINO, Radames in AIDA, Cavaradossi in TOSCA, Calaf in TURANDOT, Turiddu in CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA and Paco in LA VIDA BREVE. Winner of many vocal competitions and awards among them the Sullivan Foundation and FONCA México Federal and State Grant, Palm Beach Opera, Fort Worth Opera and Houston Grand Opera Voice Competition and a recognition from the University of Monterrey, Mexican Consulates in Santa Ana, CA and Dallas, TX for his international career that includes 9 countries in America and Europe. Recently he received the Virtuosi Legends Award for his international career and contributions to the Hispanic Community in Houston, TX and sang 14 performances as Rodolfo in Puccini's LA BOHEME in Spain. Upcoming engagements for Mr. Gonzalez are Concerts in McAllen and Houston in Texas, Mexico City and Monterrey in Mexico. Plus his Vocal Workshop in Monterrey, Houston and McAllen.
